2022 TCYS INVITATIONAL HEIFER SHOW ENTRY INFO
Good afternoon!
We are excited to share that the Travis County Youth Show (TCYS) is planning on hosting its Invitational Heifer Show, again, in January 2022! Please note that heifers must be state validated in order to participate.
We must have these entries reviewed, entered, and post marked no later than November 1st, so these entries will be due to the Bastrop County Extension Office by 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 28th.

ENTRY DEADLINE:
- 4-H Entry Forms, Registration Papers, & Payment are due to the Bastrop County Extension Office by 12:00 Noon on Thursday, October 28th.
- These items may be turned in at the Fall Heifer Validation scheduled for Tuesday, October 26th, as well.

TCYS HEIFER RULES TO NOTE:
- General Rules are listed starting on on Page 14:
- Please note that heifers must be State Validated in order to show
- Please be aware of the other general rules listed
- The Heifer Show Rules are listed on Page 21:
- Each exhibitor may enter no more than three (3) Breeding Heifers.
- All entries are subject to the General Rules and these additional rules. Heifer entries will not be eligible for the premium sale.
- Exhibitors must be a legal resident of Travis, Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays or Williamson counties and active, eligible youth members of either a 4-H Club or FFA Chapter.
- Heifers participating in the open show, must follow state validated rules per the General Livestock Rules.
- Original registration papers must be in the exhibitor’s name by November 1, 2021. Copies of registration papers must be included with paper entry form. Original registration papers will be checked at the show.
- TCCA recognized breeds are eligible to show. The original registration papers must indicate the animal meets breed requirements. No entries registered under ranch names or in partnerships will be accepted.
- Heifer entries will show in three divisions (provided there are a minimum of 5 head per division): American, British and Exotic. If the minimum number of entries are not entered, all heifers will show in one division. No heifer more than 36 months of age at the month of show will be allowed to show. Heifer classes will be broken at the discretion of the Heifer Superintendent.
- All heifers must be in place by the deadline set forth in the latest official “Schedule of Events”.
- All exhibits are subject to Texas Animal Health Commission rules.
- No additional or artificial hair, twine or other foreign material may be used in grooming of breeding heifers. Show will be a blow-and-go event.
- Heifer Showmanship contest will be broken up into Junior and Senior divisions. The Junior division will be from
3rd through 8th grade and the Senior division 9th to 12th grades. - The entire area behind the cattle arena (from entry to exit) is restricted to exhibitors only. Each exhibitor may have one parent or one AST/CES advisor assist them in the staging area/drug testing, if necessary
