2019-2020 Major Livestock Show & Contest Information

Good morning, all!

This email blast is directed to those who would like to enter a spring Major Livestock Show.  Entry forms are now available and are due to the County Extension Office (CEO) by 4:00 PM on Thursday, November 7, 2019.  Please note that the deadlines posted on the major show websites are for County Extension Agents and Ag Teachers to triple check entries, enter them online, and get them post-marked.    Any late entries submitted to the office after November 7^th will require a $25 late fee per show. 

If you have any questions about contest entries or need help finding the appropriate entry forms, please email Mellanie at MLMickelson@ag.tamu.edu or call her at the CEO (512-581-7186).  Check out the image below the email signature to see some of the contests available at shows this year!

The show websites are also available on our 4-H page at https://bastrop.agrilife.org/major-shows/. 

Youth must do the following to successfully enter a show:

• Be enrolled with an active status in 4-H CONNECT (https://tx.4honline.com/) – we will check as you bring entries in
• Complete and pass the Quality Counts Test (https://www.texaslivestockvalidation.com/qc/qcregister.aspx - you will need to retake the exam if you are a new exhibitor or if you moved up to 6^th grade or moved up to 9^th grade for this year)
• Complete a Bastrop County Show Summary Form (to help us make sure you are entered in everything you would like)
• Complete each individual show entry desired and submit payment
• Complete an eligibility/absence request form to allow us to send the request to schools
• Reminders:
• To exhibit livestock in a Junior Show, they must be state validated for Majors
• Houston’s entry form/affidavit must be notarized
